The Lunar New Year, aka Spring Festival, is commonly known as Chinese New Year in the United States. This year it will begin on January 25, 2025, and the celebration in China will last 15 days. One of the most celebrated holidays in Asian culture, it has been gaining popularity in this country.

Chinatown Lunar New Year Celebration
There will be a family friendly festival in Honolulu’s historic Chinatown to welcome in the 2025 lunar New Year on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
The Lunar New Year Parade starts at the Hawaii State Capitol at 9 am. The parade goes down Hotel Street through downtown to Chinatown. The festival, formally known as Night in Chinatown, will be on Beretania Street and the historic A’ala Park.
There will be food vendors, crafts vendors, free keiki bouncy houses, a rest tent, 3 entertainment stages and a bicycle valet. This celebration is a great way to learn more about Chinese culture.
