The Boggy Creek Monster Festival 2025 is returning to Fouke, Arkansas. It will be happening on April 26. 2025, from 10 am to 4 pm, at the “dancing Ranch Farm.”
Fouke is a small town in southwest Arkansas, near the Sulfur River. It is best known for the Fouke Monster legend. The monster is a creature described as a Bigfoot-type monster. The mystery and the legend has fascinated people for decades.
In 1973, Fouke attracted national attention when a documentary-style movie was released. “The Legend of Boggy Creek” featured Fouke residents and eye witness accounts of the Fouke Monster. It also offered reenactments of the sightings. The overwhelming success of the movie led to fame for the monster. The movie was very creepy, atmospheric and scary.
There have been numerous sightings of a large, hairy humanoid type creature. His height has been estimated to be between five and fifteen feet. The sightings have been reported by hunters, police officers and locals over the decades.
There hasn’t been a single piece of evidence that is testable. All the evidence is anecdotal. Still, there have been numerous reports over the decades by reputable people. And Arkansas has the perfect ecology for hiding such creatures. Its thick forests, mountainous areas, swampy undeveloped bottomlands, rivers and creeks could hide these enormous creatures.
So go see Fouke for yourself. Have a family friendly adventure at The Boggy Creek Monster Festival. There will be activities for kids, bounce houses, scavenger hunts, tours and more. You can get your picture taken with the Boggy Creek Monster. Serious Bigfoot researchers can attend a conference given by Craig Woolheater. And there will be a parade in downtown Fouke at 6 pm.
