The Lunar New Year is based on the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Also known as Spring Festival or Chinese New Year, it began on January 25, 2025. The celebrations will continue for approximately 15 days.
2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake, the sixth sign in the Chinese zodiac. It is believed that the animal ruling a person’s birth year influences their personality. People born in the Year of the Wood Snake are believed to be intelligent with a calm demeanor and strategic thinking.
Avalon SpringFest
Celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake at Avalon SpringFest on Saturday, February 13, 2025, from 12 pm to 6 pm. This is happening at Avalon Park on West Blvd. in Orlando.
The lion dance is a traditional part of Lunar New Year celebrations for bringing good luck in the new year. Students from the Wah Lum Temple will perform the lion dance. There will be Kung Fu demonstrations at the SpringFest.
At SpringFest, you can enjoy Asian cultural performances, Asian foods and activities. You’ll also see folk dancing. Local vendors will be there to provide for a great shopping experience. This is a free family event and free parking is available.
Lunar New Year Shirt
