There are a lot of fun things to do in Atlanta, Georgia. In fact, if you’re planning a trip to Atlanta, the cost of separate activities can really add up.
Luckily, there is an easy way to save money on some of the best Atlanta attractions. And that is by purchasing the Atlanta CityPASS!
But whether or not the Atlanta CityPass is worth it has to do with how many of its included attractions you’ll be visiting:
- 5 Attractions – Get the CityPass
- 4 Attractions – Get the CityPass
- 3 Attractions – Depends on which attractions
- 2 Attractions – Depends on which attractions
- 1 Attraction – Don’t get the CityPass
Today, we’ll explain what that means. We’ll share exactly when the Atlanta City Pass is worth the cost – and when you shouldn’t get it. But first, let’s go over what the pass is and how it works.
How The Atlanta CityPass Works
With the Atlanta CityPASS, you’ll get admission to 5 attractions.
Here are the 5 attractions, along with their same-day box office prices for adults (if you pay for them separately):
- Georgia Aquarium – $67.99
- Zoo Atlanta – $34.95
- World of Coca-Cola – $26.00
- College Football Hall of Fame – $33.37
- Fernbank Museum of Natural History – $30.95
- National Center for Civil and Human Rights* – $21.00
*- The National Center for Civil and Human Rights will be temporarily closed through August 2025 for an expansion project. Therefore, we won’t be including this attraction in our calculations.
Please note that we are looking at the prices before taxes. And we’ll only be looking at adult prices.
Although the pass includes 5 attractions, you may not have time during your trip to get to all 5 places. Whether or not the pass is worth the cost depends on how many attractions you visit – and sometimes, which attractions you visit as well.
5 Attractions
Let’s start by looking at how much it costs if you will be visiting all 5 attractions.
Now, without the CityPASS, for adult admission you’d pay $67.99 + $34.95 + $26.00 + $33.37 + $30.95 = $193.26.
The Atlanta CityPASS, however, costs $99.00.
This means that with the Atlanta City Pass, you save $193.26 – $99.00 = $94.26!
4 Attractions
Now let’s take a look at what would happen if you wanted to do four attractions – the four cheapest possible.
The four cheapest attractions you could currently visit with the Atlanta CityPass are:
- Zoo Atlanta – $34.95
- World of Coca-Cola – $26.00
- College Football Hall of Fame – $33.37
- Fernbank Museum of Natural History – $30.95
To do all four attractions, it would cost $34.95 + $26.00 + $33.37 + $30.95 = $125.27.
But the Atlanta CityPASS is only $99.00. So purchasing the CityPASS would save you $26.27.
And that’s just if you do the four cheapest attractions. If you replace one of those activities with the Georgia Aquarium (which is more expensive), you’ll save even more money.
3 Attractions
What if you are only planning on doing 3 attractions?
Whether or not the City Pass is a good deal all depends on if you’re planning on visiting the Georgia Aquarium. (That’s because the Georgia Aquarium is the most expensive attraction included in the CityPass.)
Georgia Aquarium and 2 Other Attractions
Let’s say you want to visit the Georgia Aquarium and also the two cheapest options. This would be:
- Georgia Aquarium – $67.99
- World of Coca-Cola – $26.00
- Fernbank Museum of Natural History – $30.95
If you paid for these activities separately, it would cost you $67.99 + $26.00 + $30.95 = $124.94.
It would be cheaper to buy the CityPASS for $99.00. You’ll save $124.94 – $99.00 = $25.94.
And if you replaced World or Coca-Cola and/or Fernbank Museum of Natural History with the more expensive Zoo Atlanta and/or College Football Hall of Fame, it would still be cheaper to buy the CityPass.
3 Attractions (Excluding the Georgia Aquarium)
On the other hand, what if you wanted to visit three attractions, but you weren’t going to include a trip to the Georgia Aquarium in your plans?
That means you’d choose three of the following four attractions:
- Zoo Atlanta – $34.95
- World of Coca-Cola – $26.00
- College Football Hall of Fame – $33.37
- Fernbank Museum of Natural History – $30.95
Here are the four possible options:
World of Coca-Cola, College Football Hall of Fame & Fernbank Museum of Natural History
$26.00 + $33.37 + $30.95 = $90.32
Zoo Atlanta, College Football Hall of Fame & Fernbank Museum of Natural History
$34.95 + $33.37 + $30.95 = $99.27
Zoo Atlanta, World of Coca-Cola & Fernbank Museum of Natural History
$34.95 + $26.00 + $30.95 = $91.90
Zoo Atlanta, World of Coca-Cola & College Football Hall of Fame
$34.95 + $26.00 + $33.37 = $94.32
For three of those combinations, it is cheaper to pay for them all separately than to pay $99.00 for the CityPass. The only exception is if you were to visit Zoo Atlanta, College Football Hall of Fame and Fernbank Museum of Natural History. But even in that case, paying separately would only be $0.27 more expensive than the CityPASS.
2 Attractions
Again, whether or not the CityPass is worth it depends on if you’re visiting the most expensive attraction, the Georgia Aquarium.
Georgia Aquarium and 1 Other Attraction
If you visit the Georgia Aquarium and 1 other attraction, here are the 4 possible options:
Georgia Aquarium & Zoo Atlanta
$67.99 + $34.95 = $102.94
Georgia Aquarium & World of Coca-Cola
$67.99 + $26.00 = $93.99
Georgia Aquarium & College Football Hall of Fame
$67.99 + $33.37 = $101.36
Georgia Aquarium & Fernbank Museum of Natural History
$67.99 + $30.95 = $98.94
If you visit Georgia Aquarium and Zoo Atlanta or College Football Hall of Fame, it would cost more to purchase them separately than to buy the $99.00 CityPASS.
But if you visit Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola or Fernbank Museum of Natural History, it would be cheaper to purchase them separately than to buy the CityPASS for $99.00.
2 Attractions (Neither are Georgia Aquarium)
The two most expensive attractions (not including the Georgia Aquarium) are:
- Zoo Atlanta – $34.95
- College Football Hall of Fame – $33.37
If you pay for them separately, it would cost $34.95 + $33.37 = $68.32. And that is cheaper than the CityPASS. So if you only visit two attractions and neither of them are the Georgia Aquarium, you should not get the CityPASS.
1 Attraction
All of the attractions cost less than $99.00 (the cost of the CityPass) individually. So if you are only visiting one attraction, you should not get the CityPASS.
Conclusion
When Atlanta CityPASS is Worth It
If you visit four or five attractions, then the Atlanta CityPASS is definitely worth it! You’ll save anywhere from $26.27 to $94.26.
If you want to do three attractions and one of them is the Georgia Aquarium, then the Atlanta CityPASS is still worth it.
Otherwise, if you want to do two or three attractions, it may (or may not) be worth it.
When Atlanta CityPASS is Not Worth It
If you want to visit only one attraction, the City Pass is not worth it.
And if you want to visit two or three attractions, it may not be worth it – it depends on which attractions you choose.
