There’s a brand new nighttime event at the Universal Orlando Resort – Volcano Bay Nights! This is a separately ticketed event that takes place at Volcano Bay waterpark. You can enjoy shorter lines on certain rides and enjoy unique experiences. In this guide, we’ll go over the Volcano Bay Nights dates and times, fun things to do during the event (including which rides are open), how to save money on tickets and more.

When are Volcano Bay Nights?

The event takes place during the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, April 12, 2025 (7 PM – 10 PM)
  • Saturday, April 26, 2025 (7 PM – 10 PM)
  • Saturday, May 3, 2025 (7 PM – 10 PM)
  • Saturday, May 10, 2025 (7 PM – 10 PM)
  • Saturday, May 17, 2025 (7 PM – 10 PM)

And what’s great is that you can actually enter the park starting at 4:00 pm. This means you have three extra hours to enjoy the park before Volcano Bay Nights officially begins.

What happens during Volcano Bay Nights?

During Volcano Bay Nights, you can enjoy:

  • 10 select rides with shorter wait times
  • Live entertainment including a DJ
  • Meet and greets with DreamWorks characters
  • Family friendly games and activities
  • Specialty themed island treats and eats
  • Complimentary Coca-Cola products in your souvenir cup

What rides are open during Volcano Bay Nights?

The following attractions will be open during the event:

  • Ohyah of Ohyah and Ohno Drop Slides
  • Ohno of Ohyah and Ohno Drop Slides
  • Ko’okiri Body Plunge
  • Kopiko Wai Winding River
  • Krakatau Aqua Coaster
  • Waturi Beach
  • Kala and Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides
  • Runamukka Reef
  • Honu of Honu ika Moana
  • ika Moana of Honu ika Moana

If there are attractions you’d like to ride that aren’t on this list, be sure to arrive at 4:00 pm (the earliest you can enter the park) to enjoy them before the regular park day ends.

What is there to eat at Volcano Bay Nights?

In addition to the complimentary Coca-Cola product refills, there are free island treats:

  • Spicy Island Shrimp – Spiced shrimp with sriracha Thai chili sauce, pineapple vinaigrette blue jasmine rice, crisp plantain, and mango cucumber salsa
  • Cheesy Cliffside Seashell Pasta – Cliffside seashell pasta with white cheddar and parmesan cheese

You can also purchase specialty menu items at the Kohola Reef Restaurant & Social Club, as well as other food and drinks at select locations.

How much do Volcano Bay Nights tickets cost?

Tickets for the Volcano Bay Night event cost $99 per person, plus tax, for ages 3 and up. The ticket is for admission for one night only.

What does a ticket include?

A ticket to Volcano Bay Nights includes:

  • Admission to the event
  • A complimentary Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cup
  • Complimentary island treats
  • Free parking

With the souvenir cup, you can have refills throughout the event, though they are limited to no more than 1 pour from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine per 10 minutes.

You can purchase Volcano Bay Nights tickets here. Just look for the Volcano Bay Nights option on the left side of the page. (But don’t buy your tickets there if you’re an Annual Passholder – more on that later.)

Which is cheaper: Volcano Bay Nights or a day at Volcano Bay?

An adult day ticket to Volcano Bay during the time frame of the event (April 12-May 17) is $14-$19 cheaper than a ticket to Volcano Bay Nights. Of course, you’ll have longer wait times, and you won’t have the special perks included in the event.

Are there discounted Volcano Bay Nights tickets?

Yes, you can get a 10% discount on Volcano Bay Nights tickets if you are an Annual Passholder at Universal Orlando. You’ll need to purchase your tickets at the front gate of any of the Universal Orlando theme parks (Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure or Volcano Bay) or over the phone (by calling 1-866-PASS-4-FUN).

Where should I stay near Volcano Bay?

If you’re looking for hotels near Volcano Bay, the best choice is definitely Cabana Bay Beach Resort. It’s located right next to the water park! And while there are certainly no guarantees, you might even be able to request a room closer to Volcano Bay when you check in to the hotel.
