There’s something so beautiful about looking out into the sky when you’re in Utah. Staring out at the beautiful sky and mountains is something truly special. It is something I really enjoyed when I lived in Utah.
So being outdoors in Utah is special year-round. But it is going to become particularly special on Saturday, September 16, 2023. And that is because of all the beautiful lanterns that will fill the sky during the Lights Festival!
The Lights Festival is a really neat event. You can take a lantern and write whatever you want on the lantern. Some people write their hopes or dreams. Some people honor a loved one that has passed on. Others use it as a way of letting go of the past. Whatever you write, you’ll be able to enjoy seeing it and a thousand others fill up the night sky after the sun has gone down.
The event starts at 4:00 PM. So you’ll want to come before nightfall so you can decorate your lantern. But you’ll also want to come because there’s a lot of fun things going on at this festival besides the lanterns.
Top local artists will be performing all day and there will be dance parties. There are play areas and games for all ages. And you can grab some dinner and drinks from one of the food trucks.
If you want to sit and enjoy the music or sit and enjoy your food, you are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a picnic blanket.
This event takes place at Bonneville Seabase in Grantsville, Utah, which is part of the Salt Lake City Area.
