The Persian New Year is a holiday marking the beginning of the new year and the first day of spring. It originated over 3,000 years ago and was celebrated as a 13 day festival symbolizing renewal and harmony with nature.
Called Nowruz, it remains a religious holiday for Zoroastrians, Baha’is and Isma ili Shia Muslims. However, most people celebrate it as a secular holiday. Estimations have it that the Persian New Year will be celebrated by over 300 million people around the globe.
Atlantis Casino Resort & Spa in Reno and the Darioush Vineyards are having a culinary celebration of the Persian New Year. The Atlantis Steakhouse is having the Darioush Vineyards Dinner on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Darioush Vineyards was founded in 1998 by Darioush Khaledi, an Iranian immigrant and wine enthusiast. The winery fuses the rich winemaking traditions of ancient Persia with the Napa Valley innovative spirit.
