Stowe’s Winter Carnival’s roots in the community go back to 1921. It featured tobogganing and ski jumping on the hill behind the local school. It soon became an annual event. Suspended during World War II, it was resumed in 1974.
Four days of frosty fun attracts crowds to the town every year. Ice carvings are a popular part of the festivities. You can watch Professional Ice Carvers as they create elegant and artistic ice carvings throughout the town on Demonstration Day.
