This is the 14th annual Chinese New Year in the Desert. During the last 13 years, CNY has grown so large it’s recognized as an official “Nevada 150” event.
On the first day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar, Las Vegas is transformed with red and gold decorations and extravagant displays. You’ll see beautiful displays, flowers and lanterns at the Bellagio and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.
Restaurants will be offering special dishes, special menus and special drinks.
The 14th annual Chinese New Year Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Suncoast Hotel & Casino will be kicked off. This will be happening on January 31, 2025, from 5 pm to 6 pm. This is free and open to the public.
The 14th annual CNY in the Desert Gala Dinner will follow the ceremony. This will take place at Taste of Asia in Suncoast from 6 pm to 9 pm, sponsored by JAMBA. Enjoy a traditional family style Chinese dinner.
Downtown Summerlin begins its Year of the Wood Snake celebrations with their annual Lunar New Year Parade on Friday, January 29, 2025, at 6 pm. You’ll see traditional dragon dances and lion dances, fan dancers, stilt walkers and so much more.
The big CNY Parade will take place on Friday, February 1, 2025, from 11 pm to 12 pm. The parade begins at Fremont East Entertainment District. The After Party will be in a Downtown Container Park. The party will feature live entertainment. Both the parade and the party will be free and open to the public.
