I love this time of year when Halloween is right upon us and Christmas is just around the corner. But sometimes I miss the summer and the fun the warmer weather can bring us, such as going to a waterpark.
But when you visit Atlantic City, New Jersey, this isn’t a problem. Which may sound confusing to you, since obviously it is colder this time of the year.
But Island Waterpark has an answer for this. And that is an indoor waterpark!
Island Waterpark is located at Showboat Atlantic City. And it has the distinction of being the largest indoor oceanfront waterpark in the world!
We’re going to go over all the attractions here before telling you how to save money on a ticket here!
Water Attractions
Well, it can’t be a waterpark without water attractions, right?
Electric Eel
Electric Eel is a slide attraction full of turns and tight corners.
Sonic Serpent
Sonic Serpent is a speedy tube slide that wraps around the building and other waterslides.
Barracuda Blaster
The g-forces on each turn push you on this single-rider or double-rider tube attraction.
Island Drift Lazy River
I love lazy rivers! It’s so relaxing to float on a lazy river. And this one spans almost the entire length of Island Waterpark!
Wild Wave Flowrider
Who says you can’t surf year-round? Wild Wave FlowRider features 1,000 square feet of surf simulation. They’ve even hosted surfing tournaments and surf-themed happy hours right next to Crystal Beach, which is Atlantic City’s official surfer’s beach.
Tidal Racers
This is a mat racer attraction where you can compete with your friends or family.
Slide Island
Slide Island consists of five waterslides that were created for the youngest guests.
Kids Cove
A children’s play area with interactive water activities.
Adventure Pool
Enjoy splashing around in this sports activity pool.
Blue Cascade Waterfall
Blue Cascade Waterfall is a man-made waterfall and is actually one of the largest custom aqua forms in the entire world.
Paradise Adult Island
Sometimes, us adults can feel like a lot of things at waterparks are designed for kids. But that is not a problem at Island Waterpark. Because Paradise Adult Island makes sure we are taken care of, too!
Facing the Atlantic Ocean is the adults-only Bliss Pool. It has two dry bars and a swim-up bar with DJ entertainment. This section also has a 30-foot-tall indoor Tree House that can be rented for private parties.
Hours of Operation
Island Waterpark is open from:
- Monday and Friday: 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM
The waterpark is closed from Tuesday through Thursday.

Showboat Atlantic City
As I mentioned earlier, this waterpark is located at Showboat Atlantic City. So if you are going to the waterpark, visiting Showboat Atlantic City would be really convenient. You’d be able to go have some fun in the waterpark and then go right back to your room for a shower.
And Showboat Atlantic City is a great hotel. It does not have a casino but is within a 10-minute walk of Ocean Resort Casino and Hard Rock Casino Atlantic City. This beach hotel is also less than a mile from Steel Pier. There are a lot of fun things to do at this hotel other than indoor waterpark, too, like the Lucky Snake Arcade.
